Meet Ron Randall

Magic, Mayhem & Very Bad Decisions

Born in San Diego, raised in Michigan, and educated at San Diego State University, Ron Randall somehow managed to end up in Indiana. He’s still trying to figure out exactly where things went sideways.

A U.S. Army veteran and former intelligence analyst, Ron once made a living trying to separate fact from fiction. These days, he makes a living doing his best to blur the distinction. Apparently, some habits are harder to break than others.

Ron is the author of Rise of the New Arcana, an urban fantasy series in which ancient magic collides with the modern world, fairies are considerably less charming than advertised, and sarcasm is a perfectly legitimate survival strategy.

Another Fairy Bastard previously reached #1 in Amazon downloads across six categories and four countries; Witches, Knaves and Fairy Graves reached #1 on Amazon’s New Release charts in multiple categories.

His first novel, Another Fairy Bastard, introduces Dalton Graham, a man whose already complicated life takes a spectacular turn for the worse when he discovers that the supernatural world is real—and that he’s considerably more involved in it than he’d prefer. The story continues in Witches, Knaves and Fairy Graves, where things get even more complicated. Because apparently, Ron doesn’t believe in giving his characters a break.

Ron lives in Indiana with his wife of 24 years, two children—one a senior in college and the other a senior in high school—and a cat named Midnight who may or may not be possessed. The evidence is mounting, but Midnight refuses to cooperate with the investigation.

When he’s not writing, Ron spends his time juggling the demands of family, work, and the increasingly unruly inhabitants of his imagination. He is currently working on the third book in Rise of the New Arcana, scheduled for Spring 2027.

Fairies can be pricks. Ron just writes about them.
